Organized May 8, 1950
Member of the National Congress of Parents and Teachers
Texas Congress of Parents and Teachers, Area 10
Clear Creek Community Council PTA Purpose
The Clear Creek Community Council of PTAs is a group of local units organized by authorization of the state congress. The purpose is to promote conference leadership training and to coordinate efforts of the local PTAs in its membership. The council may not legislate for its units.
The Council serves as a medium through which the local units of an area can together attack problems beyond the scope of a single PTA working alone. The Council strengthens each local unit, enabling it to work more effectively in its own school and neighborhood.
The members of the Council are the PTAs, not the PTA members. Each local PTA is represented in Council by its president, principal, and three delegates selected by the local PTA.
The Objects of the PTA
To promote the welfare of the children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship
To raise the standards of home life
To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth
To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth
To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.
PTA Mission
The mission of the National PTA is three-fold:
To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;
To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children;
To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.
